MEET THE TEAM
I have been practicing yoga and in particular Bikram yoga, for over 6 years now; attending over 3000 classes! I have suffered with severe back/neck pain in the past and have found that the heat and types of postures performed in Bikram have really improved my flexibility, toning and overall well being. I wanted to be able to share my love for Bikram with others and so opened Chez Sal! My team and I can’t wait to welcome you!
Sam embarked on her yoga journey starting out with Bikram Hot Yoga and subsequently completing her 500hr residential immersion training in Santa Barbara, California. Her focus for her students is on being able to enjoy and 'experience' something during class as well as simply 'achieve' something, and knowing that for some, sometimes just showing up on your mat is the biggest challenge of all.
After years of being the ultimate "gym bunny" and fighting injuries, Helena finally found an activity that bridged the gap between competitive and recreational fitness. Discovering something that would provide a different sort of challenge every time she practiced was right up her street. Helena's classes are fun, fast paced and energetic and she remains totally passionate about seeing individuals achieve their absolute best.
Upon completing her degree in Nutrition and Exercise, Katherine trained to become a Bikram Yoga instructor in Los Angeles 7 years ago and hasn't looked back! One of her favourite yoga moments was when she was able to fully complete the standing head to knee very early on in her training and now likes to see her students also achieve their yoga goals.
Jane's journey with yoga started in Jersey many years ago. She started practicing Bikram Hot Yoga regularly and loved the way the sequence made her mind and body feel! Jane has been tracking Bikram and other styles as well as running a studio herself for almost 8 years. Her classes are suitable for all levels, creating variations to make postures more accessible for beginners or to challenge the more experienced students.
Sari has practiced different styles of yoga since 2005 and has worked as an instructor in both Singapore and London, teaching both big groups and private classes. This allows Sari to adapt to various classes and help individuals where necessary. Outside of practicing yoga (every day!), Sari enjoys running, cycling and hiking outside in nature.
What is Bikram Yoga?
Bikram yoga is a precise asana series of 26 postures and 2 pranayama breathing exercises that allow fresh oxygenated blood to flow through all of your body by warming and stretching muscles, tendons and ligaments. Each posture is performed twice during the 90-minute class in a +40°C room and is instructed by a Bikram professional who guides you through the moving meditation.

The Bikram classes are 90 minutes long and are held at my 'studio' in Hampshire. The room temperature is approx. 40°C with a humidity of approx. 35%.
I have five excellent instructors who will assist you through the classes and will adapt any positions for those with injuries, post surgery, pregnancy etc.
There is availability for 8 yogi's per class and I recommend it is suitable for anyone over the age of 16. The classes are suitable for all abilities. The studio doors open 30 minutes before the class starts so please arrive early enough to utilise this time to relax and prepare for the class.
I provide yoga mats and towels for the class, as well as shampoo/conditioner/body wash for afterwards. I advise you avoid wearing loose clothing and come in active wear such as leggings, shorts, crop tops etc. Classes are performed bare footed so just bring a change of clothes for afterwards as well as water for the class. I also offer water and coconut water for a small price if you forget to bring some.
